Emergency Plan

Should an emergency arise and we need to communicate with you, we will use procedures similar to a weather emergency by activating our emergency telephone chain and notifying radio stations.  Further, we will post notices on this website on the home page and use our automated telephone messaging system.

In cooperation with our state police, transportation coordinators, township emergency management coordinator, and county emergency management system, we will put any needed measures into play.  Specific locations in the school have been designated for caring for our youngsters.  We have an adequate supply of food and water and certain medications on site to last for several days.  Arrangements have been made to use the Kingwood Firehouse as a site should we need to evacuate the building, with Delaware Valley Regional High School as an alternate location.

We have practiced lock-down procedures and moving students to different locations. We continue to provide references to teachers should their students have questions and concerns, and have available counselors should children have fears or anxieties.  It is our desire not to cause our students undue stress yet be available if they need us.

It is our hope that these plans will never have to be implemented.  However, the safety and welfare of our children is always our primary concern. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Laura Hartner at 996-2941, X 502.
