Weekly Math Challenge
On this page, you will find the weekly math challenges.  There is one for grades 2 - 4 and another for grades 5 - 8.

Parents and children can work these challenges together.  Be sure to show your work.  Circle your answer.

Challenges are due to your classroom (or math) teacher first thing Friday morning, or put them in the box in Mrs. Alpaugh's room.

Grades 2 - 4

James and his brother have a bag of mini candy bars.  They want to share the candy evenly, but there are an odd number of bars.

If they each take as many bars as they can from the bag, how many will be left over?

Grades 5 - 8

Carl is thinking of two numbers.  When you add the two numbers, you get 19.  If you subtract double the first number from double the second number, you get 6.
